Pixiefestsm brings the magic family memories of Pixie Kitchensm and Pixielandsm back to life. The Pixie Memories exhibit has displays of authentic Pixie signs, rides and merchandise from both Pixie Kitchen and Pixieland. The food, shows, rides and games all echo the time when mischievous Pixies lived here in Lincoln City.

In 1948, a tiny restaurant called called Pixie Kitchensm opened its doors in Wecoma Beach, Oregon. It was purchased in 1953 by Jerry and Lu Parks, who transformed it into a wonderland for generations of children visiting Lincoln City. Pixie Kitchen was something never seen before, a magical restaurant for children that preceded McDonald’s Play Land and Chuck E. Cheese by decades. The restaurant featured animatronics, fun house mirrors and all-you-can-eat family meals. Pixie Kitchen was a must-see attraction for over 30 years.
The ongoing success of Pixie Kitchen, with its legions of pixie cooks, fishermen, railroad engineers, sea creatures, balloonists, mermaids and sea captains inspired the creation of Pixielandsm, a theme park just north of Lincoln City. Pixieland opened its gates in 1969 and enjoyed its last season just seven years later. In the meantime, guests rode Little Toot the steam engine, took thrilling rides on the log flume and enjoyed a multitude of melodramas in the Opera House.
Pixiefest is all about preserving and sharing memories of Pixie Kitchen and Pixieland. If you were fortunate enough to experience either, please consider sharing your stories at the North Lincoln County Historical Museum. Their Pixie Memories Oral History Project will be operating through Pixiefest and is a primary source of the memories we recreate at the festival. Please consider scheduling a time to tell us about the magic you experienced by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 541.996.6698.
The Kiwanis Club of Lincoln City is dedicated to the children of our community. We created Pixiefest to celebrate the magic of childhood and to bring that magic to the children of Lincoln City. Your admission to Pixiefest will support Backpacks for Kids, Lincoln City Food Pantry, Stuff A Bus, Family Promise, Head Start, Lincoln City Community Days, Highway Cleanup & SOLVE, Youth Sports & College Scholarships, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Cancer Research, Taft Elementary Outdoor Program, Missoula Children’s Theater and more…
Lincoln City Pixies
Some of you may think that the Pixies packed up and left town when Pixie Kitchensm closed its doors. Turns out we have lots and lots of Pixies hiding here in town and they have all chipped in to make this event happen. Many thanks to the Pixies at Lincoln City Outlets who sponsored the stage, the Pixies at Chinook Winds Casino Resort who graciously offered to host the event, sponsor the rides and run the Shell Room, Farmers Insurance who are the official sponsors of Pixie Memories and all the volunteers, vendors and contributors who make Pixiefest happen.
